Earlier this February, the kick-off meeting of the project LARPing for Well-Being took place in Djerba, Tunisia, bringing together partners from across Europe and the Middle East to launch this exciting collaboration.
For two days, representatives of A.R.T. Fusion (Romania), Offbeat (Lebanon), Bait-Byout (Palestine), Rawafed Alkhaboor (Syria), The Finnish Peace Committee (Finland), AVER (Tunisia) and MAGNET (Serbia) met to get to know each other, share their experience in youth work and participatory methods, and lay the foundations for the project.
LARPing for Well-Being explores how LARP (Live Action Role Playing) — an immersive and participatory learning method where participants experience stories through roles and scenarios — can support the emotional well-being of young people, helping them explore emotions, relationships and social challenges in a safe and creative environment.
Over the next two years, partners will collaborate to develop learning resources, create new LARP scenarios and engage young people across different communities.
This is just the beginning — follow our journey to see how storytelling, creativity and youth work come together through LARP.
